Updating my profile

At PDFerret, we don't ask for much information about you. We only ask your email, a user name, and a password. You can update your name by going to the Profile section of the Profile page. After you have entered your new name, click on the Save button.

Updating my password

To update your password:

  1. Go to the Password section of the Profile page.
  2. Type your current password, your new password, and confirm your new password.
  3. Click on the Save button.

Appearance customization

You can personalize the appearance of the application by choosing between three themes:

  • Light: A bright theme with a clean look.
  • Dark: A darker theme that reduces eye strain in low-light environments.
  • System: Automatically adapts to your device’s theme settings.

You can switch between these options in the settings at any time by going to the Appearance section of the Profile page.

Password recovery

If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it by going to the Login page and clicking on the Forgot your password? link. You will be asked to enter your email address, and you will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

Securing my account

Use a secure password

A secure password is a password that is hard to guess and hard to crack. Our password policy requires you to use a password that:

  • Is at least 8 characters long
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter
  • Contains at least one lowercase letter
  • Contains at least one number
  • Contains at least one special character
  • Has not been compromised in a data breach1

Tip

To ensure you are using a strong, non-reused password, and avoid the burden of remembering it (or incurring in the bad practice of writing it out on paper) we recommend you to use a password manager.

Password managers are tools that help you generate, store, and manage your passwords securely. They can also help you to audit your passwords and check if they have been compromised in any data breach. There are several options out there (i.e. 1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Keychain, etc).

Deleting my account

If you want to delete your account, you can do so by going to the bottom of the Profile page and clicking on the Delete account button.

Danger

This action is irreversible, and everything your account owns will be deleted, including its teams, templates, and generated PDF files.
